About Us...
General Information

Lync-Haven is set on 40 acres of Rainforest. All the accommodation here
is set under this Rainforest. An affordable alternative for those wishing
to escape their everyday life are the Fully Self-Contained Cabins which
sleep up to six people. Stay a few nights in the Caravan Park, to wake
up hearing the delightful sounds of nature alone, found only here in this
protected area of the Daintree World Heritage National Park. The camping
grounds are snuggled under a variety of large native trees with a year
round covering of grass, giving you access at all times, in all weather.
Behind these grounds are a variety of trails, which cover most of the
property's 40 acres. The mountain-stream boardwalk is the most popular
walk of all, catering for the not so energetic to the energetic and suiting
all ages from the inquisitive toddler to the elderly.

Lasting from 20 minutes to 3 hours these walks lead you into the timeless
beauty that few people ever have the chance to experience or see. Here
in this superb Rainforest, where fauna and flora live undisturbed, you
can see many varieties of trees and birds that have inhabited these areas
for centuries making this one of the unsung great wonders of the world.
You will see unique and stunning Rainforest that has made this area become
protected as a World Heritage National Park.
All the furniture in the Restaurant is made from natural Rainforest timber.
Our meals range from Take Away meals to our a la carte Evening dinner.

Here at Lync-Haven there is a large range of native fauna that form part
of Australia's heritage; Hand-raised Kangaroos, turtles, reptiles and
an extensive range of Australian Birds. Also here is something for the
flora enthusiasts. Look in awe and wonder at the beautiful and brightly
coloured Orchids. These are seen throughout the grounds and you will also
find them housed in a large Orchid House nestled amongst the Rainforest.
Also housed in here are native ferns, trees and epiphytes, which are to
be transplanted, back onto various sections of the property as part of
the ongoing reforestation and Rainforest experimentation that has been
conducted here since 1987.
Travelling
here to relax in Paradise? There is a fabulous beach near our doorstep.
Thornton's Beach, which spans over two kilometres, rivals any beach for
splendour. There is nothing quite like the beautiful palm-fringed beach
sweeping down to the quiet Coral Sea; with its swaying trees, placid blue
sea and offshore islands, being cooled by the Southeast trade winds. To
the North is Cape Tribulation, which has two diving and snorkelling boats
that depart from here for the Inner Ribbon Reefs, giving you the opportunity
to discover where the Reef meets the Rainforest.
We look forward to welcoming you to our very private area of paradise.
Lync-Haven Rainforest Retreat is a place for everyone to come and enjoy.
Once you have been here you can be sure that memories of your stay will
remain with you forever. You will arrive as our guest but leave as our
friend.
